INX-ZA

is a division of the Internet Service Providers’ Association (ISPA) of South Africa. We currently operate three Internet exchange points, namely the Johannesburg Internet exchange

operates the only completely neutral, and community-run Internet exchange points in South Africa, namely the Johannesburg Internet exchange (JINX), Cape Town Internet Exchange (CINX)

and

and Durban Internet Exchange (DINX).  The JINX is Africa's oldest IXP;  operating since 1996, with 100% uptime!

The Internet exchanges (

INXes

INXs) provide

a mechanism for ISPs members

the only data-centre agnostic facility for operators to connect

their networks

and exchange traffic

. The exchanges encourage the local

(peer) in South Africa.  Peering encourages the routing of domestic Internet traffic

not destined for international locations.

by providing an optimal path for traffic to reach other networks within the same city, country or continent.

Connecting to any of the INXs is easy, and open to any network that has its own IP address space and an autonomous system number.

INX-ZA is an autonomous division of the Internet Service Providers’ Association (ISPA) of South Africa.
