INX-ZA operates the only completely neutral, and community-run Internet = exchange points in South Africa, namely the Johannesburg Internet Exchange&nbs= p;(JINX)= , Cape Tow= n Internet Exchange (CINX), Durban Internet Exchange (DINX) and the Nelson Mandela Bay Internet Ex= change (NMBINX). The JINX is Africa's oldest IXP; o= perating since 1996, with 100% uptime!
The Internet exchanges (INXs) provide the only data-centre agnostic faci= lity for operators to connect and exchange traffic (peer) in South Africa. = Peering encourages the routing of domestic Internet traffic by provid= ing an optimal path for traffic to reach other networks within the same cit= y, country or continent.
Connecting to any of the INXs is ea= sy, and open to any network that has its own IP address space and an autono= mous system number.
INX-ZA is an autonomous division of the Internet Service Providers= =E2=80=99 Association (ISPA) of South Africa.
